Excavating Diversity in Latent Space

Artificial intelligence doesn’t dream or create in the way we imagine. It reflects us — our digital footprint, this vast and invisible network of images, ideas, and biases we leave behind.

When we prompt the model to create, it builds from this digital footprint, shaped by decades of political power and cultural dominance. But once in a while, cracks appear. Through those cracks we glimpse motifs that blur the line between western prejudice and authentic cultural expression, inviting us to reflect on our preconceived notions.
